Living as a Paleo Vegeo

You probably feel if you have been eating vegan, or any form of vegetarian or even a traditions based plan that you are walking around with a target on your back. That's not unusual for anyone that is going against the norm in our society. People don't like different because they want to fit it. It's the reason as the internet grows our "tribe" mentality is creating communities for other "like minded" friends to connect. One of the best books I've read on this is "Purple Cow" written by Seth Godin who is the father of Tribe Marketing in our current culture.

Funny story about cows. One day a friend of mine's mother was driving down the road. There was a nice line of cows walking one in front of the other on the side of the road next to a ditch. The front cow steps on a rock, or an unstable spot. She tipped and fell into the ditch. The rest of the cows being followers also fell into the ditch. You know it may be nice to be part of the crowd, but don't follow them into a ditch. Okay?

Once I was out driving with my mom and my sister. We often did this on the weekend. Just jumped in the car without a care in the world and drove. It's something I still love to do as an adult. We were out in the middle of nowhere and we came upon a group of cows. They were just hanging out and enjoying the sunshine, except for one. That one cow was on the opposite side of the fence, and rather enjoying being all by himself. We stopped the car and laughed at how funny it was to see all of these cows together, except the one. So my mom being my mom yells out to the group of cows, "Do any of your cows know Bob Curry?" The one singular cow looked at us, and moo'd. The rest didn't even gaze up. We laughed for days about that cow, but it was a great lesson. Stand out, even if it means being singular. Share what you know, and let others decide for themselves.

If you are going to live the paleo vegeo lifestyle, then you need to go all in and live it. That means giving up on the 100 mile runs, and walking away from your life as a cardio junkie. It means learning to functionally train your body via strength training, and use an interval approach to your cardio endurance training. It means that you stop shopping in the center of the super market, and you start learning how to cook again. It's not going to be for everyone, and if you have any health problems you should consult your doctor before you start to change up your lifestyle. I am not a doctor, nor am I a dietician. I am however a certified personal trainer, and a certified sports nutritionist that has been ISO tested. Still, you are not my client, you are my reader. I do not know your particular health and inflammatory issues, and so this blog should only be used as a guide. Keep this in mind as you go forward.
